You found the cutest Airbnb. The kitchen is gorgeous. The couch looks expensive. The lighting is giving luxury. Great!
But where is the balloon backdrop going?
Does the place have a full kitchen for the private chef?
How much space do we have to host a body scrub workshop?
How far is it from mid-town?
Choosing the right Airbnb is about more than counting bedrooms and checking for a pool. The Airbnb Is Part of the Décor, Babe. Your rental becomes the home base for the entire weekend. It is where your group will listen to your unhinged playlist as they get ready to leave the house, take cute group photos, play games during game night, where the bride will open her bachelorette gifts, where the group recovers from the night before and makes at least three questionable late-night Doordash orders.
It also becomes the canvas for your themed party décor and favorite in-house experiences.
Before you book the pretty house and hope for the best, here is how to choose an Airbnb with enough room for your guests, your activities and the full DRMZ treatment.
1. Choose a Color Palette & Theme
The Airbnb does not have to match your party colors perfectly, but it should not fight them either.
Homes with neutral walls, simple furniture and open layouts give the DRMZ Stylists a clean canvas. White, cream, beige, gray, and natural wood tones usually work with almost any celebration theme.
Planning a hot pink bachelorette weekend? A neutral Airbnb lets the pink pop.
Going for black, gold and champagne? Look for a modern space with clean lines and luxe details.
Found a colorful Airbnb that you absolutely love? Let the house inspire the theme instead of forcing one. A retro rental could become the perfect setting for our Dazed theme. A more tropical home could work for our popular Lime & Salt, Tequila Sunrise, or the famous Casa Amor theme. And a sleek black and white space could be ideal for a Till Death theme, Tying the Knot theme, Disco & Diamonds theme, So Fetch, or Boots N’ Bling theme.
The point is, you can choose the Airbnb to match the theme or choose the theme to match the Airbnb.
Either way, we just need coordination. The balloons should not be in a screaming match with the living room wallpaper.
2. Make Sure Everyone Has Somewhere to Sleep
The listing says the Airbnb sleeps 12, but does that include 2 sets of bunk beds and a sofa bed in the basement? Ehh…
That is the real question.
Review the actual sleeping arrangements before booking any place. A home may technically accommodate your entire group but will the bride’s college bestie blame you for discarding them in the worst room in the house?
Check the following:
- Number of private bedrooms
- Number and size of the beds
- Number of guests assigned to each room
- Location of alternative beds
- Number of bathrooms and placement
- Amount of closet and luggage space
Think about your group dynamics too. Who is comfortable sharing a bed? Who needs privacy? Who takes two hours to get ready and needs to be near a bathroom?
Handle those details before check-in day. Room assignments are a hassle when everyone is standing in the hallway with their luggage.
3. Add Personalized Door Hangers
Once the room assignments are finalized, request personalized door hangers for each bedroom. They’re free upon request.
Door hangers let your guests know exactly where they are staying as soon as they arrive. They also turn a basic bedroom door into part of the experience.
No confusion. No arguing over beds. No one quietly claiming the primary suite before the bride gets there.
Each guest can find their name, drop their bags and get right into party mode.
4. Find the Main Character Wall
If you want a balloon backdrop, photo booth or statement installation, you need a place to put it.
Look closely at the listing photos. Do not assume the living room has enough space just because the camera angle makes it look huge.
The ideal setup area should have:
- A large blank wall or open surface
- Enough ceiling height for the requested design
- Space for the backdrop structure and balloons
- Room for guests to stand in front of the display
- Enough distance for full-body photos
- Access to an electrical outlet, if needed
- A clear walkway around the setup
Remember, the backdrop needs more than enough room to exist. Your guests also need room to stand, pose, turn around and get the shot.
If everyone has to squeeze between the couch and the balloon wall, babe, that is not a photo booth. That is a traffic jam with good lighting.

5. No Blank Wall? Check for large Windows and Sliding Doors
A large blank wall is ideal, but it is not your only option.
A backdrop can sometimes be positioned in front of a large window or sliding glass door. This can create a beautiful focal point and cover an area that would otherwise be difficult to decorate. It also easier to install and breakdown.
Before choosing this option, make sure the installation will not:
- Block a required exit
- Create a safety issue
- Prevent access to an important outdoor area
- Violate the host’s rules
- Interfere with setup or breakdown
Always share photos or a video of the space with us before the event. We can help determine whether the window, sliding door or somewhere else will work for your design.
“We’ll figure it out when we get there” is not part of the décor plan.
6. Give the Bride Somewhere to Retreat
The bride loves her friends. She loves the energy. She loves the weekend.
She may also need 20 minutes without hearing her name.
Choose an Airbnb with a comfortable primary bedroom or another private space where the guest of honor can retreat when she needs a break.
Her room should give her enough space to:
- Get dressed without a full audience
- Store her special outfits and accessories
- Have her hair and makeup done
- Take a private phone call
- Rest between activities
- Enjoy a few quiet moments alone
If possible, choose a home where the bride’s room is located away from the busiest gathering area.
She is the main character, but even the main character needs a minute alone.
7. Choose a Large Area for Your DRMZ Workshop
Adding an in-house DRMZ workshop to the itinerary? Make sure the Airbnb has enough space for everyone to participate comfortably.
Our workshops are interactive experiences, so your guests need room to sit, create, mix, sip and enjoy the activity without balancing supplies on their laps.
Look for:
- A large dining table or kitchen island
- Enough seating for every participant
- Plenty of workspace for supplies
- Good lighting
- Nearby electrical outlets, if needed
- Easy access to a sink
- Space for the workshop host to move around the group
Depending on the workshop, we may also need room for product displays, tools, ingredients, protective coverings and personalized items.
A small breakfast nook may be cute for coffee, but it is not automatically ready for Brush & Bubbly, Lip Luxe Studio or the Glow Bar.
Send us photos or a video of the proposed workshop area before booking. We can help you determine whether the space is large enough for the experience you selected.
8. Find a Dinner Table Worthy of Your Private Chef Experience
If you are booking a private chef, the Airbnb needs more than a pretty kitchen. It also needs a dining area that can comfortably seat your entire group.
Check the listing for:
- A large dining table
- Enough chairs for every guest
- Space for full place settings
- Room for centerpieces and table décor
- A clear walkway for serving
- Adequate kitchen prep space
- The appliances and cookware required by the chef
Some listings say they accommodate 12 guests but only show a dining table for six. Unless half the group plans to eat from the couch or stand, that setup is not going to work.
Ask your chef about kitchen requirements before booking. Some chefs may need specific appliances, refrigerator space, counter space or access times. DRMZ can even provide small folding tables and stools if needed.
Your private chef experience should feel like a dinner party, not musical chairs with entrées.
9. Check the Common Areas
Enough beds do not always mean enough gathering space.
Your group needs room to eat, play games, enjoy drinks, open gifts and participate in activities planned at the Airbnb.
Look for:
- An open living room
- A large kitchen island
- A dining table with enough seating
- Extra counter space
- A patio or outdoor gathering area
- Space for workshops or catered meals
- Room to move without constantly rearranging furniture
If you are planning a mimosa bar, catered brunch, charcuterie display, game night or in-house workshop, make sure the rental has an area that can support it.
Your itinerary should fit the Airbnb. It should not feel like 10 women trying to host brunch inside a hallway.
10. Stay Within the DRMZ Service Area
Before booking, confirm that the Airbnb is located within the Diamant Dreamz (DRMZ) service area.
A listing may say “Atlanta” while actually being much farther from the city or outside our standard service area. That difference can result in additional travel, mileage or destination fees for setup, service and breakdown.
If travel fees are not included in your budget, check the property’s exact location with DRMZ before booking.
Do not rely only on the neighborhood name shown in the listing. Airbnb may not provide the exact address until after the reservation is confirmed, but you can usually ask the host for the general area, closest major intersection or ZIP code.
Send that information to us so we can confirm whether the property is within our service area and let you know if any travel fees may apply.
The house may be cute, but if it is outside of the area, your budget may to take an unexpected road trip.
11. Make Parking Easy for Guests and Decorators
Parking is not the glamorous part of planning, but it can create very unglamorous problems.
Your guests need safe, convenient parking. Your décor team also needs a reasonable way to unload balloons, backdrops, props, gifts and supplies.
Before booking, confirm:
- Number of vehicles allowed
- Location of the parking area
- Availability of street parking
- Parking passes or garage fees
- Distance from parking to the entrance
- Presence of stairs or elevators
- Building loading restrictions
- Gated entry instructions
- Access hours for vendors
A downtown condo may look fabulous online, but a confusing parking garage, slow elevator and five-minute walk from the car can seriously affect setup and breakdown.
Tell your decorator about stairs, elevators, parking fees, gated entrances and long walkways ahead of time. Parking Fees for setup and breakdown will be added to your invoice. Surprises are for the bride, not the people carrying the balloon wall.
12. Read the House Rules, Bestie
Before booking, review the host’s rules for visitors, decorations, noise and outside vendors.
Ask the host whether the property allows:
- Professional decorators
- Temporary decorations
- Balloon installations
- Freestanding backdrops
- Private chefs
- Furniture to be temporarily repositioned
- Daytime visitors
- Early access for setup
- Access after the celebration for breakdown
Never assume that decorations or vendors are automatically permitted because parties are not specifically prohibited.
Also, avoid nails, glue, confetti, glitter or anything that could damage the property unless the host has approved it. A fabulous weekend should end with cute pictures, not a damage claim.
13. Share the Listing Before You Book
If décor or an in-house experience is a major part of your celebration, send the Airbnb listing to Diamant Dreamz before booking whenever possible.

- Workshop space
- Dining-table capacity
- Kitchen and dining surfaces
- Common-area space
- Parking and load-in concerns
- Distance from our service area
- Potential setup limitations
Once the Airbnb is booked, send us the complete property information, including:
- Property address
- Check-in and check-out times
- Setup and breakdown windows
- Entry instructions
- Parking information
- Current photos or video
- Measurements, if requested
- Host rules related to vendors, décor and activities
